Week 8 Reflection

Word processing is using a computer to create, edit, and print documents. Of all computer applications, word processing is the most common. To perform word processing, you need a computer and a special program called a word processor. A word processor enables you to create a document, store it electronically, display it on a screen/ monitor, modify it by entering commands and characters from the keyboard. 

Spreadsheet is an interactive computer application program for organization and analysis of data in tabular form. Spreadsheets develops as computerized simulations of paper of accounting worksheets. The program operates on data represented as cells o an array, organized in rows and columns. each cell of the array is  a model- view controller element that can contain either numeric or text data, or the results of formulas that automatically calculate and display a value based on the contents of other cells.

In class our teacher showed us how we can use these two software's effectively in our classrooms. We did activities to get accustom to the software's and by the end of the class we realize how easy it is . Week 8 was very informative and helpful.

Week 7

The ASSURE Model is a electronic lesson plan used by teachers of modern day classes. It is composed on any word processor and save on any electronic device.
ASSURE stands for:
A- Analyze
S- State Objectives
S- State Methods
U- Utilize Media and Materials
R- Require Learning
E- Evaluate and Revise

ASSURE is a guide for teaching in a classroom. A lesson plan is necessary in case of illness of a teacher. The ASSURE Model shows the exact types of students, their age and gender. So therefore any other teacher would be comfortable teaching the class in the classes teacher's absence.

Content Area: Social Studies

Time: 45 minutes

No. of Students: 21          Females: 12 Males: 9          Age Range: 6-7 years

Previous Knowledge: Students will sing a song about modes of transportations.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson:

1.      Students should be able to define with 100% accuracy what transportation is without the help of the teacher.

2.      Students will draw pictures of the different types of transportation under the three modes given after watching a short movie maker clip.

Methods: Brainstorming, Media Production, Singing

Media: Windows Movie Maker, Images, Projector, Laptop

Materials: Paper, Pencils

Procedural Development:

1.      Students will sing with teacher the transportation song a few times

2.      Teacher will allow students to brainstorm what transportation is

3.      Students will define transportation

4.      Students will view a short movie maker clip designed by teacher about modes of transportation.

5.      Students will draw pictures of different modes of transportation.

Conclusion: Students will complete a short quiz on transportation to allow teacher to know what they have learned.

Movie Maker is a creative way of presenting a presentation to a group of persons. Adding of pictures, videos and sound can be done in movie maker. Movie maker can be used as an attention grabber in the presentation of a lesson in your class.
